A transfer moves your pension from one scheme to another, for example an old workplace pot into your current scheme or a personal pension.
People transfer to simplify several pots, to change charges or investment choice, or to access different options. Transfers can be sensible or harmful depending on what is given up, so the process is deliberately careful.
